Skofee – “Wind Up Hero”

Raised in Kansas in a musical family, this rising singer and songwriter grew up around her parents’ love of bluegrass and folk. In high school she performed in choirs and in musical theatre. Taking elements from various genres, she created an unique alt-pop sound. Inspired by a wide range of influences from Alison Krauss and Elton John to Lennon Stella and Lorde, she debuted with “Fantomlimb” in 2020.

Narrating the deflating feeling of emotionally draining yourself for the benefit of others, her new single shows her vulnerable side, while enveloping it in a lush nostalgic 70s vibe. With a powerful funky disco beat, shimmering synths and crisp guitars taking your ears on a rousing retro road trip, it’s her honey-dipped, sultry vocal tone that makes this infectious, sun-drenched song truly soar.
