In The Spotlight

Garrett Kato – “Dumb”

Born in Canada and now based in Australia, this singer, songwriter and producer got his start busking in the streets of Byron Bay. Since he’s worked with iconic Aussie artists such as Tones And I, Julia Stone and Riley Pearce. He’s also performed sold-out shows alongside Damien Rice and Ziggy Alberts. Inspired by the music of The Beatles and Bob Dylan, he debuted with “The Wilderness” in 2011.

Showing his vulnerable side by singing about admitting to your mistakes and holding your hands up to them, his new single creates a sweet, easygoing background for his honest words. Taken from his EP “Nighthawks”, it’s the sunlit guitars, playful rhythm and his authentic vocals that bring this track together in an organic sound. And with a soothing soundwave, this mesmerizing jam is delectable.
