In The Spotlight

Ryan Nealon – “Matter Of Time”

Hailing from San Diego, this singer and songwriter’s life, as well as his musical journey, was influenced by the death of his mother when he was 5. Raised by his supportive aunt and uncle, he moved to Los Angeles after high school to study at UCLA and earned a bachelor’s in jazz studies. Inspired by Carole King, Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire, he released his debut “When We Were Young” in 2016.

Telling the relatable tale of the fear of living up to people’s expectations and hiding that feeling of uncertainty for the world, his new single serves as a mirror to remind us to stay true to ourselves at all times. Driven by a propulsive beat and neon-infused synths, it’s the celestial harmonies and his delightfully retro-touched vocals, coasting over the lively melody, that turn this tune in a timeless groove.
