ROKI – “Hands Up”

Hailing from Vancouver, this Canadian singer/songwriter grew up as a shy girl, before starting to write and produce music as a creative outlet. Initially she headed up several bands as well as write her own material, but took a short break from her music to pursue a love for film-making. Inspired by artists like Nelly Furtado, Melody Gardot and Billie Eilish, she released her debut single “Let Go” in 2022.

Inspired by an argument with her partner, her new single captures the moment the realization hits that the fight has come to an end and it’s time to surrender. Taken from her upcoming EP “Lovable”, expected in November, it’s the blend of fiery blues with fierce soul that puts the passion of the quarrel in a melody. With vigorous drums, blazing brass and stirring vocals, this jam is a vivacious groove.
