In The Spotlight

The Eighty Six Seas – “Lonely Afternoon”

Born in Massachusetts as Nick Stevens, this eclectic singer and songwriter started his musical career as a solo folk artist in college. Now based in Brooklyn, he got exposed to a plethora of musical styles. Named after the 1986 Boston Celtics, he shapes rock, pop and folk into an unique sound. Inspired by The National, New Order and Bon Iver, he debuted with his EP “This Is Just A Simple Song” in 2022.

Based on the true story of the Stewart-Gardner Museum heist, his new single tells the tale of a struggling business-man who tries to inject excitement in his life by stealing a piece of art. Accompanied by 80s-touched electronica, from the vitalizing beat and the sprightly synths to the sleek guitars, it’s his mesmerizing vocals that bring all elements together into one intriguing sonic adventure.
