In The Spotlight

Lucy Rose – “The Racket”

Hailing from Camberley, this British singer/songwriter started her musical journey playing drums in her school orchestra. At 16 she taught herself to play guitar. After a move to London she provided backing vocals for the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Manic Street Preachers and Paul Weller. Inspired by Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Adele, she released her solo debut album “Like I Used To” in 2012.

Reflecting on the personal trials in her past, her new single celebrates overcoming adversity with defiance and determination. Taken from her upcoming album “This Ain’t The Way You Go Out”, expected on April 19th, it’s the rhythmic beat, melodious piano and her hypnotic vocals that draws the listener in. And with a cacophonous chaos at the end, this triumphant tune is packed with resilience.
