Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, this singer and songwriter grew up in a tough environment, with a rife gang culture. After moving to Alabama, he got immersed in the musical world, due to his dad James being a professional musician. He began playing in several bands, eventually starting his own called Abraham. Inspired by artists such as Bobbie Gentry, he debuted solo on his EP “Paupers Field“ in 2010.
Taken from the expanded edition of his 2023 album “Coyote”, his new single is a chapter in the story of the character named Coyote, who is on the run from his past. With semi-autobiographical lyrics, it’s the 60s feel of the melody, with sleek piano, mellow guitars and country-esque rhythm, that dips it in familiar nostalgia. And with his authentic, emotive vocals, this is a mesmerizing tune.
