Phoebe Go – “7 Up”

Based in Melbourne, this Australian singer/songwriter wrote her first song at the age of 13 on a guitar she stole from her brother. Two years later she fronted an indie dream-pop band called Snakadaktal. After their breakup in 2014 she formed the duo Two People with former band member Joey Clough. Inspired by The Beatles and Bright Eyes, she released her solo debut EP “Player” in 2022.

With melancholic lyrics about the unsettling feeling you get when you know it’s time to let go of something you didn’t want to, her new single balances the poignant words with a dreamy, upbeat melody. Using an acoustic instrumentation from the propulsive beat and mellow guitars, it’s her airy vocals that find their way to your heart and guide you through the playful, yet misty tune.
