In The Spotlight

Ethan Fiske – “Boy Back”

Hailing from Middlebury, this versatile singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer started playing the piano at a young age. Seeing Bruno Mars perform at the Grammy’s in 2011 lit a fire in him and he realized performing was his calling. He started recording his own music with a cheap microphone and an old computer. Inspired by The Weeknd and Michael Jackson, he developed a modern take on Motown soul and 70s/80s pop and debuted with “Bring Me Down” in 2018.

Telling the story of a lover that left you but who, after realizing that she made a mistake, just can’t let go, his new single tells an ex that she can’t have you back. Wrapped in a soft, satiny smooth and soul-infused melody, this nostalgic tune is ear-strokingly stunning. With an easy-going percussion, sleek bass line and slick saxophone tickling all your senses at once, it’s his Stevie Wonder-reminiscent, soulful vocals with a luminous falsetto, that make this smooth groove a polished sonic gem.
