In The Spotlight

Caroline Kingsbury – “Our House”

Born on the day Elvis died and Madonna was born, this sparkling singer and songwriter was destined for a career in music. Despite a conservative upbringing in Florida, she eventually settled in Los Angeles to pursue her destiny. Although she grew up listening to The Killers, she found her sound in the neon haze of 80s music. She opened for AURORA and Miya Folick and toured with Alex Lahey. Inspired by artists like Kate Bush, she released her debut single “Emeralds” in 2017.

Lyrically rejecting all kinds of bigotry against the queer and trans communities, her new single celebrates their right to live and express themselves as they please. Immediately sparking a nostalgic vibe from the 80s-infused pop and disco blend, it’s the retro rhythm, dazzling synths and electric guitars that forge an infectious, neon-dipped melody. And with her vibrant vocals completing the shoulder-padded sound, this glittering groove is a colorful burst of pure sonic energy.
