Scarlet Fiorella – “Bed Head”

Hailing from Philadelphia, this singer and songwriter has been singing all of her life. She sang in her mothers boutique, until a customer would come in. Since launching her career, she scored a TikTok hit with “What I Did”, supported artists like HOMESHAKE and Amber Mark and played iconic venues such as The Trocadero in Philly and the Mercury Lounge in New York. Inspired by the soulfulness of Amy Winehouse and the 90s R&B tones of Aaliyah, she released her debut EP “Angel Face” in 2018.

Highlighting the indignity felt by women when they experience sexualization, often leading to feeling ashamed and unsatisfied with their own body, her new single replaces that vulnerability with sheer female empowerment. Doused in a 2000s-styled R&B attitude, she enriched it with some funky elements. From the bouncy beat and acoustic guitar to the bustling, yet buttery-smooth chorus and her powerful vocal energy, this is an infectious and enchanting groove.

Ella Eliza – “Life Without Me”

Born and raised in Germany and now based in London, UK, this singer, songwriter and producer first got introduced to music by her mom from a young age. In school she sang in a choir and as a teenager she joined a choir program in the United States. First going to London to do a musical course at LAMDA, she moved there permanently to pursue a musical career in 2019. Inspired by Fleetwood Mac, Prince and Amy Winehouse, she released her debut “Like I Can’t Breathe” in 2018.

Exploring the complexities of a relationship between two people that have grown apart, her new single gives a lover the clear choice: live with or without her. Combining reflection and empowerment with a dark pop vibe, she first paints a relaxing soundscape with birdsong and laidback synths, before the track picks up the pace with an ethereal rhythm, retro-touched guitars and some electronic elements. And with her emotional vocals, this ominous tune is gripping and introspective.
