Zay’Marie – “Too Far”

Born as Elizabeth Marie Murray in Venice Beach, this singer and songwriter started singing in a church choir. With that love of music in her heart, she moved on to study vocal performance at Spelman College in Atlanta. She also made the final 5 at the BeHeard Competition of The Revolt Summit. Now based in Washington D.C., she’s performed several times at the MetroBar and SoFar Sounds. Inspired by Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé, she released her debut “Your Love” in 2019.

Inspired by the chemistry she felt for somebody, her new single is all about taking risks and letting go of inhibitions. Sonically a futuristic amalgamation of electronic music, R&B and soul, the song kicks off with an ethereal synth. Joined by a potent drum beat and polished electric guitars, the track progresses through her own auditory world. And with the airy translucence of her delicate vocals, this titillating tune has both a velvety beauty as well as a dancefloor-ready bounce.
