In The Spotlight

Wil Linder – “Keep Getting Fooled”

Born and raised in the rural outskirts of Sydney, this Australian singer and songwriter grew up far from the hustle and bustle of city life. Although his youth was immersed in music, it wasn’t until he was 19 before his career took off. Since then he’s been impressing audiences with his dynamic stage presence at venues like the Richmond Regent Theatre. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Mumford & Sons, he debuted with “A Good Hard Look” in 2023.

Told from behind a bottle, pouring his heartrending story into his glass, his new single shines a light on the dreams we dream and the sometimes harsh reality that comes with them. Joining his authentic lyrics is a fusion of country, rock and indie that has a genuine rawness and relatability. Instantly gripping with a howling electric country guitar, the track fills the melody with a driving beat and a sweeping organ. And with his husky vocals, this ardent tune is a heartfelt ode.

Brooke Surgener – “Got It Good”

Hailing from Erie, PA, this singer and songwriter was taught to play the piano by her mother, but it wasn’t until she picked up a guitar aged 10 that she found her instrument. Growing up as an introvert, music was her way of self-expression. Since then she’s performed live around her home town at venues such as Oliver’s Beer Garden and Celebrate Erie. Drawing inspiration from artists like Michelle Branch, The Head And The Heart and Gabrielle Aplin, she debuted with her self-titled EP in 2018.

Inspired by a night dancing in Nashville and filled with sheer positivity, her new single is a love song to women everywhere. Injecting good vibes into every joyous note, the song starts with seductive bass plucks and a mellow drum. With an alluring mix of retro and modern pop with a touch of folk, it expands into a slick, full-bodied chorus. And with hypnotic, beguiling vocals blending into the mirthful melody, this bubbly, inspiring tune highlights everything that’s good in the world.
