Melin Melyn – “The Pigeon & The Golden Egg”

Formed in 2019 by lead vocalist, guitarist and saxophonist Gruff Glyn, this Welsh band is completed with Will Barratt, Cai Dyfan, Garmon Rhys, Rhodri Brooks and Dylan Morgan. With their infectious, genre-spanning sound, they have been a popular act on the festival circuit, having played Wychwood Festival in the UK, ESNS Festival in The Netherlands and Trans Musicales Festival in France to name a few. Inspired by Syd Barrett and Kevin Ayers, they released their debut “Mwydryn” in 2019.

Taking up arms to rally against empty, sentimental phrases often found on fridge magnets, cushions and wall hangings, such as ‘live laugh love’, their new single is one stop in their fictional world created on their album “Mill On The Hill”, expected on March 7th. Sonically transporting us back to the 70s with a retro-rock edge, it’s the groovy electric guitar riffs, voracious rhythm and jaunty piano that forge the lively tune. And with their cheeky vocals, this catchy rocker is a real toe-tapping jam.
