Born in Caerphilly and now based in Aberdare, this Welsh singer, songwriter and musician learned piano from the age of 11, wrote his first song at 14 and added guitar at 17. He began playing in bands such as Third Party and The Food. In 2011 he started a solo tribute to John Lennon and joined forces with Chris Maule in 2012 to perform Lennon & McCartney tribute gigs around the UK. Inspired by The Beatles, Crowded House and U2, he released his debut EP “The DAT Sessions” in 1995.
Returning with his first release in 14 years, his new single is a rich, 70s-inspired, nostalgic rocker. Combining the feeling we’re listening to a hidden gem from the era with heartfelt lyrics, this song forges a truly timeless sound. With a rousing percussion, wild piano and lively guitars serving as the foundation, it’s the addition of retro horns and a hint of Hammond organ that fill the melody with sonic goodness. And with his Beatle-esque vocals, this groove is a deliciously jumping jam.
