Peyton Shay – “Daydream Police”

Born and raised just outside of Los Angeles, this singer and songwriter grew up with a vested interest in music and musical theatre. By the age of 12 she’d already released her first song. Initially self-taught, she honed her skills with professional training on piano and vocals. Her songs have been featured in various TV-shows, such as All American, The Big Bang Theory and several Hallmark movies. Inspired by Avril Lavigne, Blondie and Green Day, she debuted with “Aftertaste” in 2022.

Exploring the blurred lines between fantasy and reality, her new single is a journey of self-discovery and exposes the emotional constraints we tend to put on ourselves. A driving pop song in its essence, the song has a retro 80s edge. With a propulsive beat and melodic electric guitars setting the scene, the chorus adds a touch of rock vitality into the mix. And with some sumptuous harmonies and her luring powerful vocals, this is an exuberant groove filled with emotional turbulence.

Emma King – “Sweetest Song”

Born in Hull and now based in York, this British singer and songwriter has already been on quite a journey. By the time she was 12 she was already doing bar gigs. Later she won a scholarship to study at the Brighton Institute of Music. After she made the leap to Nashville, USA to hone her craft even more. Back in the UK, she went on to support Colin Blunstone and play festivals like Willowman. Inspired by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Elvis, she debuted with her self-titled album in 2016.

Getting ready to embark on a new musical journey, her new single pays tribute to all that came before. Mixing all kinds of exciting musical flavours into a delicious brew, this jam is spiced with Americana, blues, soul and rock. Rolling into the song with panache, it’s the invigorating rhythm, bright piano and full-bodied horns that forge the imposing melody. And with her commanding, blues-infused vocals adding a passionate layer, this towering tune is a grandiose sounding groove.
