In The Spotlight

Olympia Vitalis – “Painted Smiles”

Hailing from West London, this singer and songwriter started playing keys when she was 5 and joined a gospel choir when she was 11. At university she expanded her interests and listened to hip-hop of artists like Kendrick Lamar. Since her career took off, she’s performed at The Great Escape and the London Jazz Festival and opened for Teddy Swims, Poppy Ajudha and Baby Rose. Inspired by artists like Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin and Donny Hathaway, she debuted with “Man in 2021.

Realizing that the only reliable path through life is to place trust in yourself, her new single is meant to fill us with confidence and self-empowerment. Taken from her recently released EP “People Watching”, the song is driven by a punchy soul-pop melody. With a pulsating rhythm, playful keys and an invigorating bass line, she translates that tenacity into a spirited tune. And with her imposing vocal range, from vigorous to falsetto, this spellbinding soulful groove is truly soaring.
