East Love – “Never Mine”

Hailing from New York City, this band of lifelong friends has been making music together since 2008. Consisting of Lukas Effman, Rob Fink and Alex Goldstein, they explore a sound across genres, from folk and pop to rock. They’ve been performing live to sold-out crowds at iconic venues like Brooklyn Bowl, The Cutting Room and Rockwood Music Hall. Combining the modern pop vibe of Ed Sheeran with retro soul touches like Marvin Gaye, they released they debut “Little Less” in 2015.

Telling the relatable story of believing you’re in a mutually loving relationship, only to find out that everything was a lie, their new single combines the revelatory lyrics with a touch of nostalgia. Blending a resonant beat, soft synths and mellow guitar into an airy melody, they create a dreamy and comforting soundscape. Singing about moving on from the betrayal, it’s the emotive vocals and their lavish harmonies, that make this mellifluous pop tune sound infectious and intoxicating.
