Tamar Berk – “Drop In The Bucket”

This Cleveland-native singer/songwriter wrote her first song aged 16 and has traveled the country, immersing herself in various genres. From the Chicago garage-rock and punk scene in bands like Starball and Sweet Heat, to Portland, OR’s 60s-inspired band The Pynnacles and 70s-influenced Paradise. Inspired by Thin Lizzy, Elvis Costello and Taylor Swift, she debuted with “Shadow Clues” in 2020.

Although lyrically telling an emotive story about how being patronized and put down by a partner can accumulate until the bucket overflows, her new single wraps it in a retro-dipped tune. Taken from her upcoming album “Tiny Injuries”, expected on August 18th, it’s the crisp synths, pulsating rhythm and sparkling guitars that make this groove a buoyant classic rock/neon pop blend.

Mati Gavriel – “Someone To Somebody”

Born in Israel and raised in Germany, this multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer has an imposing musical career. He’s a multi-instrumentalist who mainly works behind the scenes, composing for TV and advertising. As a producer he’s worked with superstars, like Dolly Parton, Jon Batiste and Belinda Carlisle. Solo being an independent artist, he released his self-titled debut album in 2008.

Capturing the ever-evolving nature of human relation-ships, his new single is an intricate melodic brew. Building the track layer by layer, he starts with intriguing violin plucks and a mild beat, before a full string section injects some true audile magic and it all ascends to an imposing orchestral crescendo. At 14 she moved to a performing arts high school, focusing on studying classical voice. She’s recently completed her vocal jazz studies at Purchase College. Inspired by artists like Paramore, Miley Cyrus and Silk Sonic, she debuted her eclectic musical mix on “Ghost” in 2019.

Despite taking a slightly darker approach to a love story in the lyrics, her new single is a fun-loving and infectious song. Connecticut born and raised, this multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer was already performing with his band McLovins aged 14. Their YouTube video covering You Enjoy Myself” by Phish went viral and launched their careers. They’ve shared the stage with Blink-182 and BB King. Solo he wrote songs for Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges and debuted his pop-rock sound on “The Layover” in 2019.

Highlighting the need to keep communicating in a relationship, his new single is a tasty amalgam of pop, rock and funk. Taken from his latest EP “Younger”,he starts painting a moody picture of an ethereal soundscape, but the upbeat, ecstatic pop chorus surprises and pulls your ears in a different direction. Quebec-born and Montreal-based, this Canadian singer and songwriter started singing with her mom in clubs and taking classical singing lessons aged 10. After University she toured the world with girl band A.K.A. After the band split in 2015, she rebranded herself and started a solo career. Inspired by Mariah Carey, Lana Del Rey and Lauryn Hill, she released her debut “Won’t Let You Down” in 2015.

Celebrating the joyous feelings being in love conjures up, her new single is brimming with blissful sonic elation. Teasing you in with some cheeky guitar plucks, the song explodes with an ecstatic euphoria in the chorus. With a pounding drum, bouncy bass and sprightly guitars laying down an invigorating pop bop, it’s the exuberant energy of her vocals that’ll having you dancing around as well.

Say She She – “C’est Si Bon”

Named as a nod to Nile Rodgers’ Chic, this Brooklyn-based disco-soul band transports you back to the era of flared jeans and glitterballs. The three front women Piya Malik, Nya Gazelle Brown and Sabrina Mileo Cunningham, all started as classical singers. Influenced by 60s girl groups, 70s disco and the 80s New York punk scene, the debuted their roaring discodelic sound on “Forget Me Not” in 2022.

Paying tribute to the Studio 54 vibes of the late 70s, their new single is a summery blend of Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder influences. With rich, multi-colored dance-floor sparkles from the insatiable rhythm, crisp guitars and a cheeky bell creating the rousing disco groove and their flirtatious, sirenic vocals enticing you to move, this love-letter to the era’s nightlife is a flavorsome auditory treat.
