Favourite Kid – “Eyes On The Road”

Originally from Wales, UK and raised in Queensland, this Australian sibling trio consists of Ethan, Jaimie and Saul Roberts. All three attended RockSkool at the Australian Institute Of Country Music. Ethan started writing songs and performing solo as Aspy Jones, before his siblings joined him in this new endeavour. They played festivals like Woodford Folk Festival and Caloundra Music Festival. Inspired by Mumford & Sons, Sheppard and George Ezra, they debuted with “I Know More” in 2024.

Encouraging us to see life like a ride, rather than a race, their new single focuses on the need to move at your own pace and to not compare yourself to others. Taken from their upcoming debut album “Two Cent Journal”, expected on November 21st, this bubbly song is a blend of vibrant pop with perky country. Starting the vivid melody with some sun-soaked guitars and joined by a rosy rhythm, it’s the sheer optimism in the vocals that douse this sanguine tune in pure sunshine.

Born in Morocco and raised in Montreal after being adopted into a loving family, this Canadian singer and songwriter did have to face harsh challenges like bullying and later addiction and mental health problems. She chose music as a way to deal with those struggles. Incorporating her vast life’s experiences into her lyrics, she’s created a fine R&B-pop blend. Inspired by artists such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige, she debuted with “Maybe We Should” in 2018.

Singing about finding true love in an otherwise chaotic world, her new single finds a balance between sensuality and strength. Championing that authentic and overwhelming love, rooted in trust and emotional safety, the song blends contemporary R&B tones with a lyrical warm embrace. Starting with crisp guitar plucks, the melody soon evolves with a soft synth and a mellow beat. Raised in Italy and based in Bangkok, this Thai-Italian singer and song-writer began her musical journey at a young age learning to play the violin and starting to write her own songs. Her journey took her to be a contestant on The X-Factor Italy in 2016 and The Voice Thailand in 2017. Since her career took off, she played festivals like AXEAN and opened for Secondhand Serenade and Coldplay. Inspired by Linkin Park, Tracy Chapman and Arctic Monkeys, she debuted with “See You In Life” in 2019.

Telling an all too familiar tale of jealousy in relationships, her new single turns fears and insecurity into a bright pop song. Taken from her upcoming EP “Warm (Part II)”, expected on December 4th, she infuses the lavish melody with sparkling, neon-dipped synths, combining 80s nostalgia with contemporary vibes. With a reverberant bouncy beat, vivid bass line and her fun-loving, exuberant vocals, this colorful, highly danceable groove is brimming with courage and an infectious vibrancy.

Marfa – “American Lonely”

Forged in Colorado, this Americana duo, comprising of Bryce Menchaca and Kellen Wall, met in 2021 as music students at CU Denver, where they ended up in a songwriting circle together. Despite a difference in musical tastes, they started writing songs together, but began posting covers on TikTok. Since then they’ve played venues like the Skylark Lounge and the Aurora Borealis Festival. Inspired by 70s country-pop artists like Glen Campbell and America, they debuted with “66” in 2024.

Written in the aftermath of the L.A. wildfires, their new single tries to capture the unimaginable heartbreak and loneliness that impacted so many people. Wrapped in a serene nostalgia from the 70s-touched melody, it’s the laid-back warmth from the guitars and the understated rhythm that gets this song going. Later filling the instrumentation with more body, it’s their velveteen harmonies and exquisite electric guitar solo that make this wistful, West-Coast-dipped groove sound timeless.

Inspired by artists like Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin and Donny Hathaway, she debuted with “Man in 2021.

Realizing that the only reliable path through life is to place trust in yourself, her new single is meant to fill us with confidence and self-empowerment. Taken from her recently released EP “People Watching”, the song is driven by a punchy soul-pop melody. Raised in Connecticut and based in Brooklyn, NY, this singer and songwriter always had a passion for music, from listening, playing instruments and singing to feeling drawn to radio. Since his move to New York in 2016, he’s performed at iconic venues like Pianos and Arlene’s Grocery. Apart from performing, he’s also a special education teacher and former radio host. Drawing inspiration from The 1975, Bruce Springsteen and Turnover, he debuted with “A Little More” in 2021.

Inspired by a breakthrough he had during therapy where he decided not to pick himself apart anymore, his new single turns that pivotal moment into a sense of freedom and empowerment. Melodically dipped in sweet nostalgia, the cinematic instrumentation shines with bright neon 80s hues, but with some 90s vibes included. With ambient synths, punchy drums and lively guitars forging the retro tune, it’s his polished vocals that tie all elements together into a sleek anthem.
