Sven Ross – “Gym Membership”

Based in Amsterdam, this Dutch singer and songwriter was encouraged by his parents to take up music. Initially by taking recorder lessons, but that got switched to guitar a year later. And although he did shift gears and pursued a teaching career, he eventually moved to London to focus on his songwriting. Back in The Netherlands he put his learnings to work. Drawing inspiration from Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard and Jason Mraz, he released his debut EP “Filled With Gold” in 2022.

Telling the recognizable tale of the aftermath of a relationship breakup, his new single draws comparisons between his emotional recovery and the workouts he does thanks to the gym membership he got left with after the split. Melodically driven by a pulsating beat, it’s the refreshingly cheerful guitar strums that inject a level of positivity to the tune. And with his heartfelt, storytelling vocals completing the sonic picture, this song takes the listener on a relatable journey.

Stacey Ann – “Ripples”

Based in Perth, this Australian singer and songwriter has been making her mark on the indie soul-pop scene, together with a four-piece band. They’ve played prominent festivals such as Nannup Festival and RTRFM Winter Music Fest in 2023 and supported artists like Joan & The Giants and Dulcie. Inspired by Florence + The Machine, Carole King and Fleetwood Mac, she released her debut single “She” in 2019.

Singing about the postive impact of surrounding yourself with supportive and uplifting friends, their new single is a ray of sonic sunshine. Taken from their upcoming EP “A Change In The Wind”, expected on March 14th, the track opens with a retro-touched piano and brass combo. Evolving with a mild rhythm and fresh tambourine, it’s her enchanting vocals that radiate the warm Australian summer.

Dover Lynn Fox – “Winter Son”

Born in Burlington and raised in Toronto, this Canadian singer and songwriter grew up immersed in the 60s and 70s music her parents used to play. However it was a love of books, from Ray Bradbury to C.S. Lewis, that influenced her songwriting skills. Inspired by artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks and Neil Diamond, she debuted her pop, folk and rock mix on “Westward Like The Sun” in 2019.

Although she meant to write a song about the sadness she felt after her father’s cancer diagnosis, her new single actually radiates light and hope. Drawing you in with a rolling beat and a rousing guitar riff, this track blends pop with a folky vibe. And with her intoxicating vocal artistry taking your ears to every end of the sonic spectrum, this alluring tune is a shining beacon when life gets tough.

RightHandWave – “The Second Hand”

Originally from California and now based in Nashville, this artist is a self-taught singer, songwriter, guitarist and bass player. He started his musical career playing in various cover bands, while writing his own material on the side. This project records those songs collaborating with talented musician friends. Inspired by Cheap Trick, The Police and Prince, he debuted with “Camera” in 2021.

Telling a heartwrenching story of a couple from New York, who are starting to realize that their relationship has run its course, his new single captures the emotional lyrics in a sun-drenched, California-pop melody. With a jangly guitar, mellow rhythm and Sting-touched vocals, the song unfolds to a full-flavored west-coast tune that merges his words of hope with an early summertime vibe.

Axel Flóvent – “Have This Dance”

Hailing from Húsavik, this Icelandic singer and songwriter got his first guitar at the age of 9, but didn’t take to it. However his uncle taught him to play AC/DC songs and, after a move to Denmark, classical guitar lessons changed that. Since he’s played the Iceland Airwaves Festival as well as SXSW. Inspired by The Beatles, Bon Iver and Bombay Bicycle Club, he debuted with his EP “Forest Fires” in 2015.

Capturing the exciting feeling that new love brings, where the world seems refreshed and enhanced, his new single establishes a warm and homely feeling soundscape. With a repetitive rhythm, glistening synths and a dreamy vibe creating a tranquil pop melody, it´s his emotion-laden, polished vocals singing the heartwarming lyrics, that make this beauteous tune sound honest and full of hope.
