Rita Satch – “That Ain’t Me”

Born in Uzbekistan and raised in Melbourne, Australia, this neo-soul vocalist was brought up on music. She started doing gigs at an underground jazz bar in her home town. She’s played music festivals such as Glastonbury and Cheltenham Jazz and was a finalist in the 2020 National Jazz Awards. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and Nina Simone, she debuted with her self-titled EP in 2014.

Written after a period of personal turmoil in her life, her new single is a motivational anthem celebrating true resilience. Starting with a laidback percussion and guiding bassline, the song soon gains bright, jazz-infused keys to complete the enchanting melody. And with her mighty vocals adding an energetic layer, this glamorous slice of stylish soul is filled with hues of hope and individuality.
