Evan Bieber – “Pick Myself Apart”

Raised in Connecticut and based in Brooklyn, NY, this singer and songwriter always had a passion for music, from listening, playing instruments and singing to feeling drawn to radio. Since his move to New York in 2016, he’s performed at iconic venues like Pianos and Arlene’s Grocery. Apart from performing, he’s also a special education teacher and former radio host. Drawing inspiration from The 1975, Bruce Springsteen and Turnover, he debuted with “A Little More” in 2021.

Inspired by a breakthrough he had during therapy where he decided not to pick himself apart anymore, his new single turns that pivotal moment into a sense of freedom and empowerment. Melodically dipped in sweet nostalgia, the cinematic instrumentation shines with bright neon 80s hues, but with some 90s vibes included. With ambient synths, punchy drums and lively guitars forging the retro tune, it’s his polished vocals that tie all elements together into a sleek anthem.

Sophie Lilah – “Cold Water’s Warm”

Based in Perth, this rising Australian singer and songwriter began exploring her music seriously from about 15. She was singing as part of the Fremantle College’s Contemporary Music Program and went on to study contemporary vocals at university. She honed her craft gigging around her hometown, attributing her first gig to Mojos Bar in 2020. Drawing inspiration from varied artists like Clairo, Julia Jacklin and Jeff Buckley, she debuted her rock, folk and blues blend on “Cups” in 2023.

Capturing the heartbreaking realisation that someone will never love you in return, her new single is about reckoning with the truth despite the ache it causes. Taken from her upcoming album “Busy Being In Love”, expected on October 17th, the song’s melody takes us through the various stages of emotions. It starts soft and gentle, with a mellow guitar and mild keys, but leads to a wild, passionate chaos at the end. And with her yearning vocals, this captivating tune has a haunting vibe.
