Kylie Odetta – “Too Broke Too Busy”

This inspirational singer and songwriter from Greenville, South Carolina, went from being bullied in her early years to finding solace in the power of music. She’s written over 200 songs, opened for the likes of Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw and spreads her musical message to schools in her Dare To Dream program. Blending jazz, soul and pop, she released her debut album “Waiting Game” in 2014.

Narrating the relatable journey of following your dream, her new single is a honey-dripping amalgamation of sweet jazz and laid-back pop. With a mellow rhythm, fresh piano and the comforting warmth of a jazzy saxophone, she coasts over the mellifluous melody with her silken, soul-soaked and slightly raspy voice. Despite its airy feel, this sugarcoated jam is filled with encouraging empowerment.

Laura Llorens & The Shadows Of Love – “I Wanna Go Home”

Born in the USA, but now a true Parisian, this singer and songwriter started playing her folk-pop music in the Paris Metro in 2005. Since then, she released her debut EP “The Giving Tree” in 2010, followed by two full-length albums. After signing with renowned French soul label Q-Sounds Recording in 2018, she started working on a fresh new sound, joined by her backing band The Shadows Of Love.

Introducing her new soul stylings, her latest single is a delightful journey passing delicious soulful stops. With a mellow rhythm accompanying the 60s-touched organ sounds and some retro brass lighting the way, her folky voice is enveloped in soul-dripping passion. Taken from her upcoming bilingual album “Home/Chez Moi”, expected in February 2020, this is a rousing bit of musical mastery.

Evon Rose – “Something More”

Hailing from Vienna, this Austrian indie-rock quartet is centered around lead singer Andreas Shuster. Despite studying International Business in Australia, a life-altering event compelled him to share his music with the world. Influenced by the likes of Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they mix their rock sound with insightful lyrics. They debuted with their 2018 single “New Shores”.

Ascending from a mellow indie-pop ballad to an invigorating rock explosion, this incredible single shows the listener both ends of the auditory spectrum. Despite going from light strums to a blasting electric guitar chorus with ease, Andreas’ vocals feel right at home in both soundscapes. Lyrically focusing on life after death, this guitar-driven jam delivers fierce rock and so much more.

Charles Parker – “Love Is Us”

Native to Baltimore, this singer, guitarist and songwriter spent his childhood listening to the likes of The Bay City Rollers and The Partridge Family, but the discovery of Kiss and Iron Maiden showed him another side to music. He’s spent over 20 years playing in cover bands, but took his own blend of country, folk and rock on a solo outing in 2017 and released his debut album “Bring Back The Sun”.

Giving an exhilarating rock beat some boot-stompin’ twang, his new single is the glittering result of when different sounds cross paths. With some powerful percussion rocking the melody and the catchy country guitar enhancing the joyous harmony, it opens up to allow his narrative vocal style to shine. And with the addition of some catchy hooks, this foot-tappin’ tune is truly jumpin’.

Basia Bulat – “Your Girl”

Born in Toronto, this Canadian singer and songwriter grew up listening to her mother’s piano students as well as legendary soul from Sam Cooke and Stax on the radio. She’s a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, autoharp, piano, ukulele, bass and charango. Combining her early musical influences with a love of folk, country and R&B, she released her debut album “Oh, My Darling” in 2007.

Written in a snowstorm in Montreal and recorded in the desert heat of Joshua Tree in California, her new single also explores the edges of extremes musically. Despite singing with her Stevie Nicks-touched vocals about letting go of someone you lost, it’s  foot-tappin’ invigorating and upbeat. Taken from her upcoming album “Are You In Love?”, expected on March 27, this is a tasty aural contradiction.

Amy Swift – “Every Little Thing”

This British vocalist and songwriter was raised by her teacher mother and car dealer dad on the sounds of soul, jazz and Motown, firing a passion for music within her. She’s written for a multitude of other artists, as well as fronting the electro-soul band Pacific State. Making a name as a solo artist, she released her debut single “Moving” earlier in 2019 and is opening for Natacha Atlas.

Her third solo outing harkens back to the golden days of Motown-styled soul, without losing a foothold in the present. With a feel-good swagger from the driving beat and the smooth retro shimmer, created by the xylophone and harmonious backing vocals, wrapping its melodic warmth around her swooning voice, this silken tune fuses every little delicious sonic morsel to auditory perfection.
