Born in Hong Kong as Jodie Chan, this Chinese singer and songwriter is currently based in London. She began performing aged 9 and writing her own songs aged 12. As a teen she performed in musicals such as RENT. She moved to the USA to study at Northwestern University in Chicago. Since the start of her career she’s played various UK venues like The Jago and PizzaExpress Live Soho. Inspired by Carole King, Bruno Major and Ella Fitzgerald, she released her debut “Inevitable” in 2020.
Championing sheer positivity, her new single reflects on the need to focus on small, meaningful details of everyday life as a way to deal with moments that feel overwhelming. Taken from her upcoming EP “ERA 03”, expected in September 2026, the song embraces a nostalgic warmth. Blending soul-pop with an indie-R&B vibe, the melody starts soft and sweet and opens up to a bouncy bassline, lush electric piano and her intimate, layered vocals, this is a bright slice of sonic hope.
