In The Spotlight

Julia Cumming – “My Life”

Born in New York City, this singer and songwriter grew up in a musical family with parents being part of the band Bite The Wax Godhead. She studied Vocals Music at the Professional Performing Arts School. In 2013 she joined Nick Kivlen en Olive Faber as frontwoman and bass player and  formed the band Sunflower Bean. She also worked as a model for Yves Saint Laurent and campaigns for H&M and Diesel. Inspired by Alice Cooper, Carole King and Kate Nash, she’s now embarking on a solo path.

Written for those who are tired of never being enough and choose liberation, her debut single celebrates finding a new rhythm she didn’t realize she was looking for. Taken from her upcoming album “Julia”, expected on April 24th, the song is captivating from the very first note. Driven by an imposing and emotive piano, the enchanting melody unfolds with an added jazzy percussion and mellow guitars. And with her charming, intimate vocals, this freeing tune is an impressive debut.
