Lisa LeBlanc – “Whole Lotta Talkin'”

Born in New Brunswick, this bi-lingual Canadian singer and songwriter grew up in a large musical family. She first learned to play the guitar in order to play in family jam sessions. She began writing original songs aged 14 and studied at the École Nationale De La Chanson. Since then she’s played at Festival D’été De Québec and venues like Le Bataclan in Paris and Paradiso in Amsterdam. Inspired by Metallica, Feist and Bob Dylan, she debuted with “Aujourd’hui, Ma Vie C’est D’la Marde” in 2012.

Lyrically a playful whimsy about getting stuck in an endless one-sided conversation, her new single narrates desperate attempts to escape an over-talker in search of sweet, sweet silence. A high-energy, 60s-inspired surf-rock banger, this vintage groove captures a vibrant, fast-paced vibe. Melodically led by a retro Farfisa organ, it’s the virulent rock guitar riffs and propulsive drums that give it a bit of oomph. And with a grit in her mighty vocals, this raw, yet jolly tune is a sonic party.
