The Lazy Eyes – “The One Who Got Away”

Formed in 2015 in Sydney, this Australian band consists of Harvey Geraghty, Itay Shachar, Noah Martin and Leon Karagic. They met while they were attending Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. They first started busking and this led to them performing at the BigSound festival in 2019. Since then they’ve also played festivals like The Great Escape in the UK and Splendour In The Grass. Inspired by The Beach Boys, Tame Impala and Deep Purple, they released their debut “EP1” in 2020.

Capturing the feeling of longing for a love that cannot exist in your reality, their new single highlights the human desire to want what we can’t have rather than just enjoying the life we do have. Taken from their upcoming album “Cheesy Love Songs”, expected on August 21st, this mesmerizing song blends 60s pop with a contemporary touch. Layered with fuzzy guitars, soft drums, crisp piano and mellow vocals, this dreamy, sunlit groove is filled with warm, introspective nostalgia.
