Yasmine Gill – “Find Another You”

Based in London, UK, this multi-cultural singer and songwriter spent her childhood in Tunesia, listening to her father’s jazz and blues collection. She learned to play the piano aged 6 and singing by the age of 12. Exchanging Tunesia for Canada, she moved in order to attend McGill University. In 2020 she moved to London and since played the Half Moon Putney and SoFar Sounds. Inspired by Norah Jones, Diana Krall and Lianne La Havas, she released her debut “Forrest Gump” in 2019.

Capturing the emotional aftermath of the end of a relationship and the fear of never being able to find love like that again, her new single is filled with melancholy as well as comfort. Encapsulating her words in a pillowy-soft jazz melody, it’s the mellow piano, velvety drums and smooth brass that creates a soothing atmosphere which is not out of place in a smoky jazz club. And with her mesmerizing, honey-sweet vocals warmly hugging the notes, this alluring tune is pure ear candy.
