Martyn Scott – “Turn”

Hailing from Rotherham, this gifted British musician and songwriter has been making music for over 21 years. At 17 he was already playing in a band called The Shakes and performed all across the country. Lockdown presented a chance to focus on a solo path, creating all songs in his home studio. Inspired by The Beatles, Oasis and The Smiths, he debuted with his album “Maybe Just Maybe” in 2021.

Sit back and take a moment to let this retro-infused song wash over you. Drawing the listener into a kaleidoscope of aural influences, his new single is a rich amalgamation of 60s pop, a touch of jazz and true storytelling. Driven by propulsive percussion and luscious Mark Knopfler-infused guitar play, this vivid tune is dipped in nostalgia. Crafted with flawless skill, this timeless gem is pure sonic genius.

Maddie Regent – “Hiding Place”

Toronto-born and New York City-based, this Canadian singer and songwriter grew up immersed in musical theatre and creative writing. She started writing songs aged 11 as a medium where both interests met. After her move to New York she worked in the film industry, before posting her songs online. Inspired by Julia Michaels and Avril Lavigne, she debuted with “You Had It All” in 2019.

Taking the listener by the ear through the complex pitfalls of knowing that you’re in a toxic relationship, but having difficulty letting go, her new single pairs her heartfelt lyrics with an electro-pop melody. Taken from her EP “Girl Of Your Dreams”, it’s the twinkling synths and infectious beat that injects some neon radiance. And with her heady vocal artistry, this bouncy groove is a soaring success.
