Sarah Nimmo – “Take The Pain Away”

Born and raised in London, this British singer and songwriter grew up in a music-loving household. Initially showing an interest in writing poetry, at the age of 12 she started turning her body dysmorphia into introspective lyrics. Meeting Reva Gauntlett in secondary school laid the foundation for the band NIMMO they would form. They’ve played famed festivals like Glastonbury and Mighty Hoopla. Inspired by Nirvana and Depeche Mode, she released her solo debut “Underground” in 2025.

Dealing with the emotional weight of having to completely start over, the final track on her recently released debut album “How Can I Explain Myself?” tries to navigate the time after an ending in which healing is still ongoing. Dipped in smooth 80s vibes, the song captures an honest vulnerability in the melancholic synths and a mid-tempo percussion. Layering her emotive vocals with a subtle reverb, the intimate tune ascends to a cinematic passion showing the transition to acceptance.
