NOEL – “Heart Full Of Ghosts”

Born Noel Sönnerbo and hailing from Stockholm, this Swedish singer and songwriter’s path has been an unusual one. Initially trying for a career in athletics, an injury made him divert to music. He began uploading covers recorded in his bedroom to TikTok, which went viral and attracted both music professionals and enthusiasts. He started releasing original songs and collaborating with artists like Boy In Space, Clara Mae and LOVA and debuted with “When You’re Not Mine” in 2023.

Singing about the weight of previous romantic experiences preventing him to be fully open to a new relationship, his new single combines poignant lyrics with an emotive blend of 70s songwriters and modern pop. Taken from his recently released EP “Mementos”, the track opens in an intimate atmosphere of an acoustic guitar and mellow piano, before it explodes in the rambunctious chorus with a resonant beat and wild guitars. And with his raw vocals, this is a song of extremes.

BIRTHE – “Grow”

Hailing from Knesselare, this Belgian singer and songwriter started taking music lessons at 6 years young and learned to play the piano and harpsicord. As part of a local cover band, she performed on stage for the first time aged 14. She’s been honing her sound through various bands, local competitions and art school since and played the Gentse Feesten and the Rijvers Festival. Inspired by Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder and Elvis Presley, she released her debut “Memories” in 2023.

Drawing inspiration from her own dreams of wanting to be on stage and sing since she was 5, her new single highlights that, despite life’s unavoidable ups and downs, you never have to lose those childhood hopes and dreams. Creating a delectable brew of soul, gospel and pop, the song opens with a joyful piano, a retro organ and a gospel choir. Adding some spirited oomph with the upbeat rhythm and jubilant horns, it’s her soul-infused vocals that make this tune truly stand out.
