Created in a tiny room at the famed Waldorf Hotel in Vancouver, this Canadian project was conceived by Bruce Wilson. Already a stalwart on the music scene, his initial career with grunge punk band Tankhog in the late 90s was darkened by drug and alcohol addiction. Years of recovery later, he rebuild his music career with a brand new art-rock sound. Drawing comparisons to artists such as David Bowie, Nick Cave and Iggy Pop, he debuted this new chapter on “Come The Rain” in 2016.
Written after the passing of both his sister and a dear friend, his new single is an accumulation of indescribable grief and yet dealing with that loss by celebrating their lives. With a 90s Britpop edge, this song is driven by rolling percussion. Enriched with an emotive piano and electronic keys, as well as stirring guitars, the melody combines a touch of nostalgia with sentimentality. Remembering all the good that their existence brought, this touching tribute is an extraordinary gem.
