Malan – “We’ll Be Alright”
Born as Malan Jones, this Welsh singer and songwriter was ready to introduce herself to the music scene, when the pandemic hit and the first lockdown put a stop to those plans. Instead she used the extra time to get a music degree at Bangor University and further develop her jazz, R&B and soul sound. Inspired by Cleo Sol, Olivia Dean and Faye Webster, she released her debut “Busy Bee” in 2020.
Instantly enchanting with a soul-infused rhythm, her new single exudes positivity. Taken from her EP “Bloom”, the delightful track gently bobs on warm, comforting sonic waves. With some R&B influences and a jazzy vibe, the chorus spices the tune up with upbeat cheer and smooth harmonies. And with her chilled, soulful vocal flair, this alluring gem is more than alright; it’s a silky musical treat.

Keyside – “Angeline”
Originating from Liverpool, this British indie band has been making their name on the music scene, despite having been together only a short time. Consisting of Dan Parker, Ben Cassidy, Oisin McAvoy and Max Gibson, they’ve gained praise from BBC Introducing, played Isle of Wight Festival and opened for The Cheap Thrills. Inspired by The Coral and The La’s, they debuted with “Lights Out” in 2022.
Telling a heartbreaking story about a woman who needs to struggle to provide for herself and her family, while wrapping it in an infectious, upbeat melody, is a sign of skilled songwriting. With a vibrant rhythm, jaunty guitars and sunlit sonic hooks, their refreshing melodic artistry is gripping. And with a sweet, earworm chorus tickling your dancing feet, this insatiable jam leaves you wanting more.
