Liam Barrack – “Memories”
Born in Toronto, this Canadian singer and songwriter started learning the piano at a young age, but found his instrument after teaching himself to play guitar. He began writing music at the age of 8. Since then he attended Bishop’s University in Quebec, doing a joint degree in both music and computer science. Inspired by legendary artists such as Jimi Hendrix, he debuted with “Sick Kisses” in 2022.
Singing to the substances he consumed in his first year of university, which was mostly spent in an intoxicated state, his new single is a reflection of the person he was in those days. Taken from his EP “Sines And Symptoms”, it starts with a jazzy electric guitar and ascends with a bouncy beat and sunlit synths to a sprightly chorus. And with his cheerful vocals, this candid groove is highly memorable.

Sharl – “No Other”
Originally from Australia and now based in London, this rising singer and songwriter started learning musical instruments at 3 and has been writing songs all of her life. She got signed by an UK indie label and reached the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition. Inspired by Taylor Swift, Sia and Lady Gaga, she re-debuted as an independent artist with the single “Let Me Know” in 2022.
This song should start with Once upon a time, as she tells the story of feeling totally intoxicated with someone as if you were in a fairytale world. Taken from her upcoming sophomore album “Clichés”, expected in November, it starts with a warm bass and a punchy beat, before adding colorful synths and vivid brass. And with her silken vocal energy, this is a catchy, retro-touched tune like no other.
