Inspired by Snoh Aalegra and Lianne La Havas, she debuted her classy soulful jazz blend on “Japanese Denim” in 2018.

Sianon – “Is There Ever Any Going Back For Us”

Raised in the West-Midlands, this singer and songwriter of Irish descent taught herself to play piano and guitar aged 13 and took to busking on the streets of Dudley. After a move to Brighton to attend University, she went on to support Gabrielle Aplin and perform at festivals like Isle Of Wight. Inspired by Taylor Swift, she switched from folk to pop and released her debut “Overthinking” in 2020.

Taken from her upcoming EP “Now That It’s Over”, on which she lyrically narrates various stages of a breakup in her songs, her new single combines a sweet pop melody with heartfelt emotions. From the mellow bass plucks to the sparkle of the sanguine chorus, she conveys her story both in word and sound. Working toward a crescendo of melodic passion, this jam is filled with rich pop sentiment.

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard – “Break Right In”

Having started as a bedroom studio project for Tom Rees in 2016, he soon employed the help of his brother Eddie Rees, Ethan Hurst and Zac White to create this quartet and champion a 70s rock sound. Hailing from Wales, they perform a wild live show, conjuring the ghosts of rock ‘n’ roll past. Taking inspiration from Cream and John Lennon, they debuted their raw sound on “Late Night City” in 2019.

Bring out the denim flares, bright orange carpets and lava lamps, because their new single is erupting with vintage glam-rock vibes. Taken from their upcoming debut album “Backhand Deals”, expected on February 25th, it starts Lennon-esque calm, before an insatiable percussion and rolling rock guitars burst to life. Enriched with a touch of britpop modernity, this groove is a savory sonic pastiche.

Lady Wray – “Joy & Pain”

Born as Nicole Wray under the warm Californian sun, this soulful singer and songwriter started singing in her church choir after a move to Virginia. As a teen she auditioned for Missy Elliott, who signed her on her label The Goldmind Inc. She featured on the song “Gettaway” of Elliott’s album “Supa Dupa Fly” in 1997 and collaborated with her on her own debut single “Make It Hot” in 1998.

Following an evolution that turned a singer from the late 90s called Nicole into a modern R&B lady, her new single shows the ever on-going maturation of her music. Taken from her upcoming album “Piece Of Me”, expected on January 28th, it’s the suave smoothness of the piano, the silken soul of the guitars and her alluring vocals mixing 90s R&B with vintage soul, that fills this jam with pure joy.

NECTAR – “Rat’s Race”

Formed in early 2020 when Judah Pilcher, Jack Arnett, Jac Donnelly and Matt Smith started jamming together prior to the first Covid outbreak, this perky Australian quartet creates a sunlit fusion of jazz, indie-rock and soulful pop. Mikalyn – “Ready To Love You”

Born as Mikalyn Hay in the town of Guelph, this Canadian singer and songwriter has been writing songs since she was 7 years young and also plays piano and guitar. Initially picked up by a Brazilian record label who turned her original songs into EDM, she started doing collaborations. Inspired by Tears For Fears, Billie Eilish and Marina, she debuted her own infectious pop sound on “Gone” in 2018.

While chronicling the overwhelming emotions being in a relationship you’re not quite ready for, her new single is a catchy, vintage-dipped groove. With a beat borrowed from the 80s, a retro-sizzle from the vibrant synths and a warm glow from the lustrous guitars, this tune gets a colorful sparkle.
