Malou Madi – “Louder Than”

Born in Paris as Marie Davy, this French singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist grew up in a musical environment and played classical piano from a young age. In her twenties she moved to America and studied at Berklee College Of Music in Boston, before settling in Brooklyn. She recently returned to France after a decade. A jazz musician at heart, she plays with synths and rhythms. Compared to Feist and Sabrina Claudio, she debuted with “Decomplicated” in 2021.

Capturing the strong feelings hidden in shared silences and delicate touches, her new single emphasizes the value of a simple, meaningful act. Taken from her upcoming EP “Lilt”, expected on May 24th, the melody is filled with tender vulnerabilty and clever sonic layering. With a slow, compelling beat, mellow synths and soft sax guiding you to an electric guitar solo, it’s the silky, celestial harmonies and her enchanting jazzy vocals that elevate this tune to sound exceptional.

Ryan Mack – “Good Life”

Hailing from County Kildare and born as Ryan McLoughin, this Irish singer and songwriter was introduced to music by his musician dad, who used to play in pubs. He studied songwriting at the BIMM Institute in Dublin. Hearing Louis Walsh on the radio announcing auditions for a new boy band, he decided to try out and became a member of chart toppers Home Town. They disbanded in 2016. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Counting Crows and Nirvana, he released his solo debut “Sofa” in 2018.

Reminding listeners to embrace and celebrate the simple pleasures in life and relativize the daily grind that depresses us each day, his new single is brimming with cheerful sonic sunshine. With an electronic rhythm and computer game-like sounds laying down a lively scintillation, it’s the upbeat, sun-drenched chorus that adds an infectious joy to the tune. And with his lighthearted and jaunty vocals making you want to whistle along, this is a radiant summertime bop.
