Tori Cross – “Deepest Fear”

Hailing from Birmingham, this British singer and songwriter attended a performing arts academy in her hometown, before making a move to Liverpool to study music at university. She’s established herself on the music scene as a backing singer and songwriter for various artists. Also a LIMF Academy alumna, she’s performed at the LIMF Festival, as well as Sofar Sounds. Inspired by strong voices like Corrinne Bailey Rae, Amy Winehouse and Lianne La Havas, she debuted with “Looking Up” in 2018.

Chronicling the complex ups and downs and emotional turmoil relating to toxic relationships, her new single weaves a delicate sonic tapestry of smooth R&B and silken soul. Starting the song with a mild, minimal beat and her enchanting voice, it soon picks up tempo with lively drums, striking guitars and luminous piano chords. Accompanied by luscious backing harmonies, it’s her ravishing dreamy vocal tone effortlessly gliding over the tune that makes this an ear-catching pearl.

Jake Isaac – “Good Man”

Born and raised in London, this British singer, songwriter and musician has been a staple of the music industry for a while. He began playing drums aged 3 and later taught himself piano and bass guitar. At 19 he started as a session musician or songwriter for artists like Duffy and Elton John and opened for Paloma Faith and Sting. In 2020 he won the famed International Songwriters Competition. Inspired by Paul Simon and Michael Jackson, he released his debut EP “Hearts & Parables” in 2012.

Paying tribute to his Windrush heritage, with a dad from Antigua and a mum from St. Kitts, his new single shines a light on the community spirit and family bonds of his grandparents’ generation. With an imposing melody blending R&B, soul and West-Indian influences, it’s the towering percussion, sweet violins and anthemic orchestration that give this tune a grandiose stature. And with his passionate vocals highlighting his Patois accent, this is a vibrant, soul-stirring groove.
