Leanne Gallati – “Villain 2.0”

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, this rising singer and songwriter graduated from university with a musical theatre degree in 2016. Choosing the music scene over the theatre, she started her career as the lead singer of the funk-rock band Cosmonaut Radio. Solo since 2022, she’s performed at renowned venues such as Brooklyn Bowl and Mercury Lounge. Drawing inspiration from artists like Lawrence, Lake Street Dive and Rubblebucket, she released her debut “Selfish” in 2022.

Brimming with hints of defiance and rebellion, as well as hope, her new single reflects on lessons learned the hard way. Forging an impressive sonic balance with a driving percussion, playful piano and rock-infused guitars, she bounces from powerful pop to dynamic rock with ease. Leading us to a delicious electric guitar solo, it’s her passionate, power-house vocals reminding us that you can both be a princess and the villain in a story, that fill this riveting earworm with virulent sonic fire.

DrewJam – “Holding Fast”

Born in Manchester and based in Baldock, this British singer and song-writer was influenced by his dad, who sang and played guitar in venues in the North West. He taught him guitar and encouraged him to learn piano. Although he initially took his first steps toward a musical career as part of a duo, he made his mark utilizing his mesmerizing voice and his intricate guitar play as a solo artist. Inspired by artists such as Mark Knopfler, Snow Patrol and Sting, he debuted with “The Truth” in 2019.

Narrating the ache of nostalgia and the strength needed to hold yourself together and carry on in moments of loss, his new single is a resonant rock ballad. Built around an emotionally charged piano, the song evolves with a mellow rhythm and crying electric guitar and leads to a passionate sonic crescendo in which the drums merely hold up the howling guitar solo. And with a tenderness in his heartwarming vocals, this imposing tune sways from delicate gem to dynamic rock ballad.
