Quinn DeVeaux – “USA”

Born in Gary, Indiana, this blues/soul singer and songwriter was raised on his moms 80s R&B music and his dads classic rock. His grandmother was a jazz singer and mentored him on gospel. He’s been traveling the country, from Olympia, WA to attend Evergreen State College to San Francisco and beyond, honing his eclectic sound. Inspired by blues greats like Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley and soul legends such as Ray Charles and Bill Withers, he debuted with his album “Originals” in 2013.

Using his own, autobiographical story to show what it was like growing up in America, his new single takes you on a personal journey through his childhood. Taken from his upcoming album “Leisure”, expected on July 5th, the joyous vibe from the song is dipped in southern blues with a slight touch of country. With an invigorating drum, exuberant piano and howling electric guitars, this tune is a sonic celebration. And his soulful, storytelling vocals make this elated jam a pure musical feast.

Quinn DeVeaux & The California Honeydrops – “Very Best Thing”

Born in Gary, Indiana, this soulster was raised on 80’s R&B and classic rock. However his grandmother was a jazz singer, while his uncle was booking shows for the likes of Howlin’ Wolf and opened his ears to the blues of Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters. After moving to San Fransisco, he’d expanded to legends like Bill Whithers and Al Green. He released his debut EP “This Could Be Yours” in 2018.

Enlisting the rich sound of R&B/blues band The California Honeydrops, his new single encompasses all that is good of classic soul. From the warm bass line and the crisp guitars to the retro organ and blazing horns, this 60s-dipped tune sounds like an unexpected find in a dusty Stax or Motown vault. And with his retro-touched, yearning vocal might, this vintage groove is bursting with true passion and soul.
