Based in Springfield, this singer and songwriter grew up in a musical environment. Her dad played in punk rock bands and there were instruments throughout the home. She taught herself to play guitar at the age of 12 and began writing her own songs. Soon she started performing at talent shows and open mic nights. She’s played festivals like You Matter and Queen City Shout Music and Arts. Inspired by Taylor Swift and Alanis Morissette, she debuted with “Comfortable” in 2019.
Singing about the moment where a relationship grows from being friends to being lovers, her new single reminds you that a love like that can be extra strong. Fusing modern pop with a touch of retro neon, the track starts with a mesmerizing driving bass, before reaching anthemic heights with bustling drums, vigorous guitars and lively keys. Based in Melbourne, this Australian singer and songwriter with Samoan-Indian roots grew up listening to a wide variety of music, from R&B and soul to gospel and jazz. A trained jazz vocalist, she forged an unique fusion of soul, jazz and R&B. She was also a member of the band Astro Travellers, opened for the likes of Pip Millett and Mildlife and played festivals like Splendour In The Grass. Inspired by artists like Anita Baker and Erykah Badu, she released her debut “Nuketown” in 2018.
Exploring all various aspects of her multi-cultural identity, her new single chronicles her own experience with peer pressure to succeed. Wrapped in a truly magical blend of late 90s/early 00s R&B and colourful pop, she sparkles from the very first note. With a pulsating rhythm, sleek synths and touches of a steel drum, as well as heavenly R&B backing vocals, the velvety-smooth tune has a seductive quality.
