Andy Jordan – “It’s Complicated”

Initially finding fame through the reality TV show “Made In Chelsea”, this London-based British singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, is most at home creating music, which he has been doing since he was a teenager. Influenced by the likes of Chet Baker, Sam Cooke and Melody Gardot, he’s developed a delicious blend of pop, jazz, blues and soul. He released his debut single “Whole Lot Of Water” in 2013.

Indulging in a honeyed, laid-back jazz style, his new single feels like a comforting warmth on a chilly evening. With mellow keys and his nectarous vocals, the song has a rich, organic feel. Laur Elle – “July”

Born in the US, Laurel Clouston is an award-winning singer and songwriter who spent her early childhood moving 15 times, until settling in Canada aged 11. She trained as an Elite level gymnast, before immersing herself in the world of music as a late teen and starting to put her poetry to music. Winning the Bell Media Prize allowed her to further her musical proficiency. She debuted with “Fade” in 2017.

Slowing ascending to a candy-coated crescendo, her new single is both velveteen and infectious. Taken from her upcoming debut EP, expected in May 2020, a pop beat guides her silky voice to a glittering chorus. With the intricate melody adding a slight shimmer to the rich production and lyrical artistry and highlighting her stunning vocals, this is a striking piece of beauteous pop.

Vetta Borne – “Girls”

Born into a Filipino family in Melbourne, Maribelle Añes grew up surrounded by classic rock, pop and 90s R&B. She started off uploading songs to YouTube, when one of those songs went viral. This led to her joining the Bali Songwriting Invitational, a camp for the best songwriters in the world. Successfully transitioning into the limelight as Maribelle, she released her debut EP “Overtake” in 2016.

Ready for a new adventure, she introduced her thrilling new, musical project in 2019. Her third single kicks off with an infectious beat that grabs your ears immediately. Fusing R&B and pop with a catchy funky vein, she melds sassy synths and vivid guitars with a lush bassline and sumptuous vocals. And with an insatiable hook worming its way into your heart, this sweet groove is an utter gem!

Raelle – “Close To You”

Growing up in South-East London in a musical family, this British singer, songwriter and pianist was surrounded by classic Motown soul. Although having trained as a classical singer, she’s captivated by the intrinsic expression and emotiveness of jazz and soul. Touched by the music of Roy Ayers, Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse, she has conceived a sound rich with poetic lyricism and emotional melodies.

Finding the perfect balance between lush jazz and steamy soul, her debut single is a honey-sweet sliver of sonic heaven. The smooth keys, soft percussion and succulent sax solo are mere ingredients in her love potion, but it’s her enchanting, velveteen vocals that make this aural elixir irresistible. Early Eyes – “Marigolds”

This quintet from Minneapolis was founded in 2016 on a college campus. Consisting of Jake Berglove, Joe Villano, John O’Brien, Des Lawrence and Wyatt Fuller, they first started making music together as a hobby, but took their infectious soul-pop sound across the city, leading to local venue First Avenue to name them best new band of 2017. In that same year they released their debut EP “Minutes”.

Starting smooth and easygoing with an acoustic piano and Jake’s crisp voice, their new single soon develops into an infectious, upbeat groove. Blending a vintage vibe with a touch of jazz makes the bouncy beat, plucky bass and sunshiny keys paint a delightful, aural Summers day, while the soulful vocals sound silky and refreshing. And with sleek horns, this is a sanguine spark in an uncertain world.

Holly Humberstone – “Falling Asleep At The Wheel”

Hailing from Grantham, this young British songbird grew up listening to the warmth of acoustic music. Inspired by the likes of Damien Rice, Lorde and HAIM, she adds a darker, electronic twist. Already picked up by BBC Introducing and having played Glastonbury in 2019, she was building a fan base before she debuted with “Deep End” early 2020, which led to a tour with Lewis Capaldi.

Although the foundation of her new single is emotive indie-pop, it reveals to be so much more. Bubbling like a musical fountain, the vitalizing beat, mellow piano and electro touches fuse together into a rousing soundscape in which the melody is both smooth and emotional, as invigorating and upbeat. And with an added shimmer and vocal warmth, this is a magical slice of her musical future.
