Shakewell – “Playafool”

Hailing from Montana, this six-piece funk band is a brotherhood of lifelong friends, who share a love for vintage grooves, live music and songwriting. Since 2013 they have shared the stage with fellow funkateers The New Mastersounds, Fitz & The Tantrums and The Wailers, showcasing their high-energy blend of funk, soul and rock ‘n’ roll. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2016.

Digging deep into the funkalicious sounds of yesteryear, their new single is an infectious bop, celebrating the glorious vintage soul jams. Opening with blazing brass, followed by a bouncy rhythm and some retro Hammond organ setting the funky scene, for the soulful vocals to dance over. And with the tantalizing horns and 70s-styled bass plucks, this is a vivacious piece of  funkadelic vitality.

Margo Zelle – “Go”

Honing her one-of-a-kind sound combining soul, R&B and pop, this singer and songwriter performed at Austin’s most renowned venues, such as Stubb’s and The Belmont. Initially the lead singer of the band The Fifth Flight, she’s been pursuing a solo career since 2018. Influenced by her love of jazz, she incorporates her vocal and piano training into her original music and debuted with “Sahara” in 2019.

Showing what happens when pure soul gets soaked in sweet, ear-stroking jazz, her new single shines on every level. While starting the song with a simple acoustic guitar and her astonishing jazzy vocal prowess give it a smooth, honeyed sound, the mellow rhythm adds a rich R&B layer to the gentle sonic flow of this sumptuous stunner and pours soulful vitality onto the velvety tones.

A Is For Arrows – “Without You”

This Toronto-based electro-pop duo, consisting of singer Alessia Balasbas and guitarist Eric Robbs, met in 2009. Although they couldn’t more different, their musical bond causes a chemistry that resonates in every note they create. They started covering bands they loved and have been touring for the past 10 years. Now with a new name and a new sound, they are ready to take on the world.

Their lavish debut single forges an intricate dreamscape, in which your ears can easily get lost. Teasing their first EP “Roses”, due in early 2020, the mellow rhythms, slick synths and electronic effects create a delicate auditory backdrop, while the ethereal vocals stroke your soul. Ocean Alley – “Tombstone”

Formed in a backyard shed, this Australian six-piece band has been wowing audiences with their infectious melodic surf-rock sound since 2011. Influenced by legends such as Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, they fuse sunshine, reggae and rock with vintage touches. They debuted with their 2013 EP “Yellow Mellow”, released a second EP “In Purple” in 2015 and two critically acclaimed studio albums since.

Reminiscent of the breezy seventies West-Coast sound of bands like America, their new single radiates tasty mellow vibes, basked in golden sunshine. With sleek, yet peppy drums and sunlit guitars creating a roadtrip worthy jam, the chorus adds some rousing rock spirit into the sweet sonic mix. Grace Ackerman – “Down To The Wire”

Hailing from Watford, this eclectic British singer and songwriter has been making her mark on the music scene for a while. She’s performed to large excited crowds across the country as the former lead singer of the band Chasing Grace, but has also written hundreds of songs and worked with the likes of Emeli Sandé and James Arthur. As a solo artist she debuted with “Feels Like Home” in 2017.

Giving her new single an authentic, organic feel, it starts of with an acoustic piano and her bewitching voice. Soon they are joined by percussion and a tambourine, before exploding into the exhilarating chorus. Showcasing her incredible ability to sound smooth and fragile, as well as powerful and imposing, this track explores both sides of the sonic spectrum, creating musical magic along the way.
