Sabrina Starke – “Cards”

Born in Suriname, but raised in The Netherlands, this multi-award winning Dutch soulstress is a singer, song-writer and producer. After a short stint in a reggae band, she decided to go solo in 2005, which led to her winning a plethora of prestigious awards. She released her debut album “Yellow Brick Road” in 2008 and dedicates her vast creative talents and music to inspire and uplift people.

Taken from her sixth album “Underneath The Surface”, her latest single is overflowing with suave, soulful rays of pure, lustrous love. The smooth, funky rhythm, airy guitar plucks and ear-stroking, multi-layered harmonies sound like a fresh summer breeze and with her enchanting vocals adding a sultry sensuality to this laidback groove, she’s definitely putting all her emotive cards on the table.

Michael Barrow & The Tourists – “Sweet Honey”

Consisting of Michael Barrow, Trevor Harmon, Alessandro Improta, Reed Perkins and Zach Collier, this folk/rock group from Provo, Utah got together in 2016 and layered soulful, expressive vocals with John Mayer-esque guitars and rich textures to create an exceptional, blues-dipped retro-folk sound. They opened for John Allred and Ben Rector and released their debut album “Juneau” in 2017.

Buzzing with a stunning vintage vibe, their new single is a hive of various genres, all blending into one, honeyed unity. The soul-soaked, retro-rock is dipped in folksy goodness and infused with some boiling blues. With the 60s-doused electric guitars, bouncy drums and a drop of classic organ enriching the sugary harmonies and soulful vocals, this is a sweet sounding taste of  musical nectar.

CHARLOTTE – “I Tell Lies”

Hailing from Hull, this remarkable British singer and songwriter started singing and playing in her grand-parents touring band aged 4 and, influenced by classic soul legends like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding, began writing her own songs aged 7. Discovered by renowned hit maker Toby Gad, her unique sound adds a modernity to classic soul and lyrically infuses it with a brutal honesty.

Her debut single starts with just an acoustic guitar and the introduction of her powerful, soul-touched voice, which has an emotive depth well beyond her 21 years. Taken from her upcoming debut EP “Nowhere To Hide”, which is due to drop on May 3rd, she dipped a bit of perky bossanova into classic soul, added some authentic vinyl crackle and created a bubbly smooth groove that’s no lie.

EKKAH – “Just A Thing”

This British duo, consisting of friends Rebekah Pennington and Rebecca Wilson, met in school when they were 15 years old and started writing music together. Initially part of the rock band Arcadian Kicks, they continued as a duo with a fresh, 80s-inspired pop-funk sound. They debuted with their single “Last Chance To Dance” in 2014 and played festivals like Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party.

Their new single takes their 80s pop-funk sound and soaks it in glittery nu-disco vibes to emerge as a thrilling dancefloor filler. With a funky beat, bouncy bass slaps and sweltering synths giving this foot-tappin’ tune a delicious retro feel, their shimmering, seductive vocals, singing about a relationship that never took off, gently stroke the buoyant melody and intertwine into a dazzling disco gem.

The It City – “All Shine, No Silver”

Hailing from the musical mecca that is Nashville, TN, this quartet of like-minded musicians has taken the best elements of funk, pop, rock and soul and synthesized an energetic, fresh sound. Prior to forming in 2015, they all had a decade of experience from doing session work for the likes of Maren Morris and Michael McDonald. They released their debut single “Make It Look Easy” in 2017.

The latest teaser from their forthcoming, self-titled debut album, expected to drop on April 12th, is a joyful explosion of sheer exuberance. They have taken a jubilant retro-funk, immersed it in some spirited gospel tones and made it shine. Agina – “Backseat Lover”

This passionate, multi-talented singer, songwriter and actress has been trained in musical genres ranging from classical and jazz, to R&B and pop since the age of 3. In 2013 she was a contestant on The Voice US and a year later on La Voz Mexico and went on to open for judge Ricky Martin on his Mexican tour. Her acting credits include series like The Young And The Restless and Crossing Jordan.

Her sumptuous new single is a sexy and beguiling smooth groove.
