Teenage Dads – “Tale Of A Man”

Formed near Melbourne in 2015, this Australian indie-rock band consists of Jordan Finlay, Connor McLaughlin, Vincent Kinna and Angus Christie. They started playing school assemblies and local pubs. Since they’ve supported Lime Cordiale, as well as playing a headline world tour. Inspired by bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Strokes, they debuted with the EP “Wett Weather” in 2017.

Telling an inspirational tale about friendship and the loving, as well as adventurous, relationship shared, their new single is infused with the Australian summer sun. The song starts with a breezy guitar, bouncy drum and Paul Simon reminiscent vocals, but unfolds into a summery indie chorus with jangly guitars and lively beat. Filled with sunshine, this laid-back tune is a catchy and heartfelt jam.

Sadie Jean – “Good To Know”

Born as Sadie Jean Wilcox in California, this rising singer and songwriter already asked her sister to write down song ideas at the age of 3. She started piano lessons aged 6 and also begin writing her songs. She’s studying at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and will open for Johnny Orlando. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers, she debuted with “WYD Now?” in 2021.

Covering the complex emotions deriving from a past lover wanting to reconnect, but not making the effort, her new single captures relatable lyrics in a haze of an elegant soft melody. Taken from her EP “Simple Like 17”, it’s the subtle balance between a gentle piano and the warm chorus of imposing drums and lavish keys that forge a beauteous soundscape in which her velveteen vocals truly shine.
