In The Spotlight

Hunnah – “Someone Else”

Born and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, this Canadian singer and songwriter started learning piano aged 4 and singing in church as well as writing her own songs aged 9. She studied Journalism at Carleton University, but began posting covers on YouTube, leading to pursuing music after graduation. Inspired by Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and Lauryn Hill, she debuted with “Think About It” in 2018.

Chronicling the wish to be the one that a love interest wants to see and the emotional battle of finding that you’re not being seen by that person, her new single deals with feeling insignificant. Taken from her EP “That’s All For Now” and wrapped in silky-smooth jazzy vibes, it’s the mellow keys, dulcet rhythm and her sultry vocal artistry that make this rich, introspective tune sound enchanting.
