David Jane – Jansen's Jamz

Based in Toronto, this Canadian singer-songwriter grew up with a fascination for mainstream media. Although not solely focused on music, he indulged in classic Hollywood cinema and visual arts, as well as hip-hop and indie-rock. He is also a filmmaker and studied Film Production at the Vancouver Film School. Musically, he’s played intimate local venues and at Drake Underground. Inspired by Tom Petty, Johnny Cash and The Rolling Stones, he debuted with “Velvet Queen” in 2020.

Exploring the use of a peaceful beach setting to mentally escape the hectic pace of city life, his new single captures the tranquil moment of watching a sunset before having to return to the chaos of the city. Taken from his recently released EP by the same name, this song creates an ambient indie-folk soundscape. With a gentle melody of a rustic, acoustic guitar, ethereal synths and real sounds of ocean waves, it’s his organic vocals that embody a feeling of yearning and nostalgia.
