Saults – “Whether I Win Or Lose”

Originally from Bordeaux, this French-British duo is comprised of brothers Antoine and Greg Saults. Their childhood dream of forming a band came true in 2014. Driven by British musical influences, they moved to London in 2017. Since they’ve garnered praise from Pete Townshend of The Who and collaborated with Alan Parsons, as well as play festivals like the Love Supreme Jazz Festival. Inspired by The Beatles, Bruno Mars and Prince, they released their debut “Kelly Ride” in 2018.

Singing about choosing inner peace over the need for constant competition and validation, their new single is about the search for something real in a fast paced world. Melodically taking us back to the yacht-rock vibe of the 70s and 80s, the song is dipped in west-coast nostalgia. With an energetic percussion, vintage synths and soaring saxophone laying down the groove, it’s the multi-layered harmonies and silky, soul-dipped vocals that make this tune a polished retro trip.
