This amazingly talented Canadian songstress took her first steps onto the music scene back in 2013, after being encouraged to enter a talent competition, which she ultimately won. She went on to open for Jess Glynne, only two years later. Being openly bi-sexual, she is also an outspoken activist for equality and LGBTQ rights, as well as being a gifted singer/songwriter. The lyrics on her latest album are deeply personal and insightful, telling the story of love and loss.
The single chronicles heartbreak and the healing which follows. It’s a well-constructed pop song, with tranquil guitar hooks and mild drums driving the song. Her captivating, subtle voice narrating the steps from heartbreak to moving on, gives the song a depth and warmth like a comforting cup of hot chocolate on a winters day.
