Consisting of Joel Stretch, Colby Stolson, Mickey Hayward and Joel Gray, this Canadian folk-rock band got their start as indie-rock band The Utilities. Reinventing themselves with a new name and a new sound, they’ve been playing festivals such as the Calgary Folk Music Festival and the upcoming Canadian Music Week. Inspired by Wilco and Neil Young, they released their debut “Mark Of Cain” in 2020.
Written as an ode to artists of all kinds who share their creations in order to inspire people, their new single is savouring the fruits of their labour. Taken from their upcoming album “Rattlesnake Dream”, expected on June 2nd, it’s a compelling blend of blues, folk, rock and soul. With a 70s vibe from the fruity piano, crisp rhythm and retro vocals, this tune is an easygoing slice of sonic bliss.
